So, I'm a Nutritional Therapist!

Four years in the making, can't believe I'm here now. What a journey! I'm so excited to be at the start of something brilliant..!

nutritional therapist

I'm a straight-up scientist, always have been and always will be.. and I think when you have that mindset, nutritional therapy and functional medicine is incredibly appealing. I view health as an intricate connection between body systems, the nutrients you feed it, the stresses you put it under and the rest you provide it. And I view myself, a Nutritional Therapist, as a health detective, trying to figure out underlying imbalances in these factors which may be contributing to poor health.

Let's go!

Your health can be what you make of it.

Don't think too hard about it

Good health does not happen overnight, we need to nourish ourselves, invest in making changes both to your mindset and to how you approach nutrition and lifestyle.

"Nic's advice has been life changing and has forced me to think about what I eat and drink" – supporting a client with pre-diabetes

I come from a journey of discovery

My introduction to nutritional therapy was not by accident. When my son was just three, he was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition (arthritis), and the doctors, as amazing and kind as they were, could not give me any reason why this was happening. They called it 'idiopathic'. I was told there was very little that I could do to change the course of medical interventions that lay ahead of us. So I engaged with a nutritional therapist (the most wonderful Matters for Health) who taught me about the gut-immune axis. Who taught me how to support healing intestinal permeability. Who taught me the importance of vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids.. the list goes on. There was PLENTY we can do from a nutrition perspective for autoimmune arthritis! And at the same time, I enrolled with BCNH to start a 4-year diploma in Nutritional Therapy.

Oh, and my son is now eleven, off all medication and has been in remission for three years. Boom! But I'm not complacent, I am just mindful of how to try and help him stay disease free as much as I can.

Learn where nutrition fits into your life

We are all unique. Your nutritional requirements will be different from the next person. Which is why I don't believe in diets, I don't believe in protocols. I believe that if we can delve deep into establishing your imbalances or deficiencies then nutrition surely can play a role in optimal health.
